Can you see me? I'm right here...

I've been standing here for years.

I walk into a room and everybody knows my name,

They ask me how I'm doing, but the answer's always the same.

I smile and say I'm happy, tell them life's been going great,

While I'm counting every minute till I finally escape.

I'm the shoulder they can cry on, the one who understands,

Always picking up the pieces, always offering my hands.

But when my world is falling and there's nowhere left to turn,

The room is suddenly empty and the silence starts to burn.

A thousand numbers sitting in the contacts on my phone,

But not a single one I'd call when I don't wanna be alone.

I make a crowded room erupt with laughter every night,

Then drive back through the city with no passenger beside.

They call me Mr Reliable, the one who never breaks,

The one who finds the answers when everybody makes mistakes.

But nobody asks the question that could tear my world apart,

"Are you really doing okay, or just hiding in the dark?"

I'm waving through the window,

But nobody looks my way.

I've got a million things to tell you,

But no words left to say.

How can we be surrounded,

And still feel so alone?

I'M INVISIBLE!

I'M THE TRUTH BEHIND THE LIES!

I'M INVISIBLE!

IN A ROOM FULL OF FRIENDS!

EVERYBODY SEES ME SMILING,

BUT NOBODY SEES THE PAIN!

ANOTHER LONELY EVENING,

ANOTHER SILENT CRY!

I'M STANDING RIGHT BESIDE YOU,

WHY CAN'T YOU SEE ME TRY?

I posted another picture with a smile across my face,

A hundred little hearts appeared, then vanished without trace.

They say I'm looking beautiful, they say I'm living free,

But nobody knows how empty all those compliments can be.

I don't need another message saying, "Hope you're doing fine,"

I need someone who can recognise the spaces between the lines.

Someone who could sit beside me when I've nothing left to give,

And remind me that I'm wanted, not just useful while I live.

I've been living in a city full of millions of connections,

But I'm drowning in a sea of superficial interactions.

Everybody wants a favour, everybody wants attention,

But the second that I struggle, I'm a subject they don't mention.

I'm the driver, I'm the fixer, I'm the one who pays the bill,

I'm the one who keeps it moving when the world is standing still.

I'm the friend who makes them laugh, I'm the one who hides the cracks,

I'm the one who's always giving, never getting nothing back!

I can stand among a hundred and still feel completely lost,

Every friendship feels conditional, every favour has a cost.

I'm not asking for a rescue, I'm not begging for applause,

I'm just tired of being useful without anybody pausing.

I'M A PERSON, NOT A SERVICE, I'VE GOT FEELINGS, I'VE GOT FEARS!

I'VE BEEN HOLDING EVERYBODY UP WHILE DISAPPEARING THROUGH THE YEARS!

I've been scrolling through the pictures of the people that I know,

Watching everybody living while I'm sitting here alone.

Every holiday and wedding, every dinner, every night,

Everybody looks together in that perfect filtered light.

I'm the one who sends the messages, remembers every date,

But nobody ever notices when I'm struggling with the weight.

Every conversation starts with what they need and what they want,

And I'm wondering if they'd notice if I wasn't always on.

I don't need a thousand followers, I don't need another like,

I need someone who remembers that I'm struggling tonight.

I need friendships where I'm valued, not just wanted when I'm used,

Not another empty promise or another weak excuse.

I'M NOT BROKEN, I'M NOT NOTHING, I'M NOT EMPTY, I'M NOT WEAK!

I'M A HUMAN BEING STANDING HERE, JUST WAITING TO BE SEEN!

I'M THE ONE WHO ALWAYS ANSWERS!

I'M THE ONE WHO ALWAYS CARES!

I'M THE ONE WHO HIDES THE DAMAGE!

I'M THE ONE WHO'S NEVER HEARD!

WE'RE NOT SHADOWS! WE'RE NOT NOTHING!

WE'RE STILL HERE! WE'RE STILL SOMETHING!

I don't need you to fix me,

I just need you to stay.

You don't need all the answers,

Just don't turn away.

Maybe we're not the only ones

Who feel invisible today.
